I noticed earlier that wen i rev my exhaust the engine moves like tilts when i hit the gas. is that normal? or could something be loose? or what

I have a focus 2.0l dura that is almost bone stock. It has a steeda intake and is soon to have an fswerks race exhaust. I was looking on the CFM website because I have $1000 bucks to blow and saw a Ford Racing CNC Ported Cylinder Head.

Yes I am pretty much a newb when it comes to working on cars but would I be able to just install this with my focus how it is or what would I need? Would I need upgraded racing pistons? Also What exactly does the ported Cylinder Head do? Does it force more air into the engine or something creating more HP?

I have a 07 Duratec with only a K&N short air ram intake and a CFM throttle body. What I’m looking for is as much power without having any turbo.

I’m thinking my first step will be to do exhaust and tune.
I would love any and all ideas to be able to do this.
As far as exhaust goes and sound I do not want anything extremely loud, I was looking at FS stealth exhaust.

Hey guys my car sometimes cranks for awhile while starting up. It only seems to do it when its really hot out latly. I just replaced the starter last month and everything was fine until like this week. and it cranks for awhile any ideas?

I just bought a 2005 ZX3 and i am trying to figure out what engine is in it. i have a haynes manual and it says that the 8th number/letter in the vin code (N) means that its engine is a 2005 2.0L, but it doesnt say if its a duratec, or if it is just some kind of one year only engine. i am pretty sure its a duratec but i just dont want to start ordering parts for the wrong car. does anyone know if there is such a thing?

Trying to get my head around this, I think I’ve got a grasp on it but I’m trying to get some specific information validated. I.E. has anyone tried this and succeeded.

Firstly, trying to get a 2.3l block to bolt to a 2.0l head. The 2.0 head is important here to preserve VVT. Secondly, trying to figure out if the 11mm deck height is going to change anything. I.E. if the deck height is offset downward by the engine mounts or upward. So, will you make the head mount higher or the oil pan mount lower… not that its much, less than 1/2 inch. So, basically, if you take a 2.3l block, build it with rods/pistons at ~9.0 compression ratio (the 2.3 has higher comp compared to a 2.0 for same pistons, right?) will it bolt right up to the 2.0 head?

Also, for head differences, the 2.3l head and 2.0l head are not the same, correct? Or are they actually the same casting with the 2.3l just having larger ports/valves? I can’t seem to find the specific intake/exhaust diameters for each of these heads, but from reading a number of discussions it seems the 2.3l head has the same combustion chamber (since the bore is the same in both motors) so I don’t see why a 2.3l head would be any better, since you can’t deshroud any more than with a 2.0l… but maybe there is something with the ports/casting which would obviously make a difference.

I’m here because there is so little about the 2.0l MZR elsewhere, but god, the 2.0l duratec ford engine has been beat to death with a billion aftermarket solutions… and they are the same engine.

Also, for a funny reference I can actually feed you guys, be happy the 2010 MX5 is supposed to come with a forged crank… in a 2.0l MZR. A few years down that might be a sweet upgrade for a focus.

Has anyone put a FR haed on a 08-10 2.0 yet I know the cam sensor is different and how did you do this. I want more power and stage 2 cams. Dont want to wast money if it will not work on my 08.

Alrite im looking to get an intake and its down between the FSWERKS cool flo which i was pretty set on and that K&N FIPK 11.

I have a 2007 Focus ST and the K&N supposedly only fits up to 2005 with a 2.3L but the CFM website says it will fit 06 and 07. [unsure] Does anyone have the KN FIPK on their st? and are the gains as spectacular as they claim

The FSWERKS claims around 6 hp and the KN FIPK 11 is claiming 11 hp [???:)]

is it possible to swap my duratec, to a diesel.??

im looking into doing a mechanical injected diesel swap…

like the cummings 3cyl.. and swap the diffs. final gear ratio to allow for 2000-2500 rpms cruise speed at around 55-65 mph..

any ideas????

I haven’t done anything with my engine yet basically because its still under warranty and don’t wanna risk loosing it. I guess my question is, if I installed a CAI would it void my warranty? If not, what are the pros of having one and what are the cons?
