On my ST 170 ( SVT in US) the end fitting of cable link to the transmission pops off the ball joint at the gearbox (which results in the loss of all gears except 3 and 4). I have fixed it temporarily using 2 zip ties, but would like to know of a permanent fix? My gear change is rather notchy, with a poor lock into reverse, is this usual?

I am meeting up with a guy this afternoon to look at his SVTF. it is silver with every option except EAP, and it has 32,000. he says it is in "like new condition". he had it listed at 8500, i asked if he would consider 7000 for it. he said he would. so if it is in good shape and drives nice, do you think it is worth 7k? also how are these cars in the snow. it has traction control, and i would probably find some rims to put snow tires on for the winter. i live in St.Louis so our winters are not too bad, but we get some snow. thanks for the help.

i am looking for a SVTF, not asking for people to PM about their car, if you want to thats cool, but thats not the purpose of the thread, anyways.

i have a few questions, i have looked at a lot on line and i have recently found one that is intresting, it is a 2003 euro svt with 105k on it. fresh suspension,brakes, bushings, and serp belt. its comp orange, which might be a detracting factor over a plus, i think i like the color but not to sure i would like it everyday. they are asking $6600, which is not too bad but more than a lot of other people have their cars at with that mileage. the clutch was also done about 2500 ago. so with this being the "euro" version, is there any difference besides the rims and interior? any info and input would be awesome. heres the cl ad

So, comming up to 3k on this oil change. and i need to change the oil. problem is, my svt didn’t come w/ an owners manual. i know it uses the same amount of oil, my question is the oil filter the same as the zetec? just wanna make sure. i know its a bit diffrent setup w/ the oiling system on the SVT. if its the FL400s or FL2005, thats fine, just wanna make sure.

So i’m making this thread to get everyone’s opinion about how much my car MIGHT be worth. I’m only looking for a guesstamation’s lol

So I’ll start by saying it’s on 02 svtf fully loaded with the winter package, miles would be 51,000. minus the HID’s and Recaro seats

Catch is car has a rebuilt title. I bought, wrecked and rebuilt the car my self back in 05. I have a TON of mods… and it’s currently boosted but has only seen boost this summer. I’m thinking it would be worth more N/A and I can part with the turbo kit.

Mods if car was n/a would be as: spec stage 2, alum flywheel. off road pipe, trubenz 3” exhaust, sts, powder coated wheels, CF sebion hood, 67mm TB, halo headlights, tinted windows, and toms Tune.

So by going off this info… what would be a fair asking price? If were to try and sell this car I have EVERY receipt to every part I bought. Had to anyway to receive rebuilt title
Interior is in excellent shape. I dont have pictures of it for the moment but just factor that in.

think 4 grand is asking to much?

I was doing some unrelated shopping on RockAuto.com this morning and happened to check on their stock of halfshafts for the SVTF.

Currently they have "AUP" brand halfshafts for both sides, $112 for driver side and $101 for passenger side. Stock is low but I do not recall seeing these prior to today. Part numbers are 8319N and 8318N respectively. Compatibility states 02-04 Focus SVT only.

In addition, they also stock the Motorcraft passenger side shaft w/new carrier bushing for $250. Part number is TX394.

Well, I need a new front bumper, and I have for quite some time. I really like the 05 SAP front bumper, but I realize they wont fit my svt without changing my whole front end. My question is if anyone knows of a bumper that looks very similar to it, and possibly pictures too?

My exhaust seems stupid loud in the cabin for a stock system. The guys at the DMV swear my car doesn’t have a cat, but it looks like a cat underneath with an 02 sensor before and after the bulb that I believe is the cat. What do you think?

i love it when you call ford knowing exactly what is wrong with your car and the automatic response from the DB on the phone is that there is something wrong with your car that is causing the problem…..well here’s the story, i just called ford looking for my 3rd low pitch horn of the year, the same thing happens every time i put a new one on the car, it works fine till it rains, then the GD thing fills up with water and craps out. "it must be something electrical with the car" WTF…never mind the gallon of water that pours out of the friggin thing, yeah that’s got nothing to do with the horn not working…ughhhhh!!!!sorry for the rant

I’m really wanting a SVTF. I really like this one but it has 120k miles. Does anyone recognize this Focus? What kinds of questions should I be asking? What kind of price should I be asking?
