I have a 04 svt zx5. THe rear driver side wheel bearing is going bad, and i cant get the hub off to replace the bearing. So i removed the tire, the caliper, the rotor and the center wheel nut. So i preceeded to use a gear puller to remove the hub. So i turned it till i couldnt budge the wrench any more and still it didnt budge. so i tapped it with a hammer still nothing. so i got an impact gun turn the puller till the impact gun quit turning. Still nothing. So if anyone has any thoughts as to how to fix this i would be grateful. I live on an airforce base and have alot of tool at my disposal the only other thought i had was use a torch but the auto shop wont let me with out removing all the fuel lines and tank. That would be fine but i work twelve hr shifts 5-6 days a weeks

I have found a powerworks orange SVT, I’m really wanting it. its got the recaro’s and a nitrous system set up (never run though) it was tunned by massive and the girl is the original owner. he’s asking 10,500 w/ 59k miles. is this a legit price? i’ve done a little research and i think its good. i think i will be picking it up. I know about the timing belt, but what else should i look for?

I am looking at a short throw shifter, a off road pipe, and a dsp.

does the 5dr svt handle dif or worse then the 3dr and is it worth putting money into the 5dr?

I am having some issues with my svt and was wondering if anyone has had a similar issue.
Here is a quick history of the car. The car has 86,000 miles and the previous owner overheated on the highway. The car cracked a ring and he tore it down, put new rings in and everything back together, but it had low compression. I bought it off of him and completely rebuilt the engine. The cylinder walls had melted the glaze a bit so his new rings would not seat. I had the walls honed .001, head resurfaced, bearings replaced and all of the seals replaced. Everything turned out great, but now that I have the car back together this thing will not start without giving it gas. Obviously I have some things to check, but I was wondering if anyone has run into a similar issue to help save me a little time.
It has a new alternator, battery, starter, timing belt, tensioner and I did the timing on an engine stand and the timing bar would fit in every time I turned the engine over. Once the car starts it runs great. I have not got it on the road yet so obviously the rings have not seated properly, but I am fairly certain this is not my issue at this time. On another note it is receiving fuel and the plug wires are firing nicely.
All of the sensors are plugged in, I have double and triple check this.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

So i just had my oil changed maybe 300 miles ago and out of the blue my check engine light came on and so i figured i’d check the oil (dont know what made me do this) so i pull the dipstick out and it had dirt and grim on it, ive been religious about changing my oil every 3k miles, any ideas what might be causing this ??

i need some info on the procharger.. from what i have heard, if you go turbo, you want your c/r to be below 10:1 and if you go super above 10:1.. i also want to run stage 3 cams for when i do get around to affording a procharger.. anybody have any comments or concerns for me??

Does anyone know the inner diameter of the svt stock header?

I’m also curious what the smallest point in the exhuast is.

I’m trying to decide if I should go 2.5 inch all the way back, or if 2.25 would be an improvement.?

I have to replace my flexpipe because it makes noise.

I was thinking about going with high flow cat but i worry about heat burning the pain off.

Anyone know where high flow cats are actually instock?

Okay…. About three months back I decided that It might be a good idea to go ahead and replace the factory clutch assembly in my 110,000 SVTF. I went ahead and replaced it with the LUK Rep Set kit. After a long frustrating weekend of tearing apart my sweet little car it was finally put back together (Not a project for a novice!!!).

Now it’s August, and I have about 10,000 miles on the clutch since replacing, and the GD flywheel is rattling again. I thought that they revamped the design on this???? Well WTF. Among other things this car is really becoming a pain in my dick. It seems like it’s been a constant struggle with this car [:(].

If any of you out there have constant issues with your SVTF, feel free to rant along.

Hey Guys,

So I just got my supercharger rebuilt and put back on. As soon as I got it all back together my car has been idling like crap. It will go from 1000 rpms when I start it to 500 when I stop at lights. It doesn’t happen all the time but about 60% of the time. The check engine light is on and I ran the codes, it’s for both O2 sensors. I just replaced the MAF and didn’t help. Let me know if you have any ideas?
